This is me
In 2009, I was a Mormon missionary on a bus in Mexico when it was boarded by narcos who announced they were on their way to kill people in a nearby village. This film imagines what I wish I had done that day.
theSTORY
Elder Jones is a troubled missionary who is abandoning his post in Mexico when the bus taking him to the airport is hijacked by sicarios heading to a nearby village to murder farmers for refusing to grow drug crops.
Elder Jones resists the narcos and escapes
the bus, fleeing into the desert with a second missionary while the sicarios hold a third missionary hostage.
Elder Jones and his companion shortcut through the desert, arriving at the imperiled town only minutes before the narcos arrive to attack. The three missionaries put down their scriptures and take up arms to heroically defend the village against the ruthless killers.
MORMONS v. HOLLYWOOD
An unprecedented number of Mormon-centric films and TV shows were released last year with even more slated for next year. "Mormonsploitation" is hot in Hollywood.
By combusting neo-Western action inside a Mormon missionary context, this film will make an unprecedented indie splash.
