EL MISIONERO is a coming-of-age, neo-western action film

cut from the cloth of SICARIO and DESPERADO..

This is me circa 2009

In 2009, at the peak of cartel violence in Mexico, I was a Mormon missionary in Mexico. Among the horrific things I experienced there, I was on a bus that was hijacked by the local cartel, on their way to kill people in a nearby village, this film is about what I wish I had the courage to do that day.

theSTORY

When narcos hijack their bus

three Mormon missionaries take up arms

in defense of the people living in a

godforsaken Mexican village.

Elder Jones is a troubled Mormon missionary who is abandoning his mission and going home early, haunted by an unknown secret. His companions Elder Juarez a protective Mexican man and Elder Michaels a self righteous gringo with no command of the Spanish language judge Elder Jones, wanting to know what he did to going home dishonorably.

While riding the bus to the airport their bus is hijacked by an eclectic group of sicarios for a local cartel hell-bent on sending a message to a small Mexican community of rebellious farmers. Elder Michaels catches the eye of one of them, a beautiful Mexican sicaria nicknamed Concha.

Elder Jones stages a coup to stop the narcos from reaching their destination, escaping the bus with Elder Juarez into the desert. In the chaos, Elder Michael gets left behind to be tortured and tempted by the cartel.

Elders Jones and Juarez escape into the desert taking a shortcut through a small mountain range to warn the village of the impending massacre by the cartel, an overly inked-up sicario nicknamed Van Gogh hot on their tail.

Elders Jones and Juarez race against time arriving just before the cartel, too little, too late. Equally driven and haunted by his secret shame, Elder Jones stands between the narcos and the villagers for what may well be, his last chance at redemption.

MORMONS v. NARCOS

arrow2.png

Mormons and Narcos have history. They have had several notable, newsworthy, and tragic encounters over the years. It is just a matter of time before a film exploring the ideological differences between the two unlikely rivals is made.

MORMONS v. HOLLYWOOD

Mormons are a box office draw and Hollywood is catching on. An unprecedented number of Mormon-centric projects were released in the last year and next year will be even more.

We have partnered with top production companies in Mexico to bring El Misionero to life, and are set to film in the Fall of 2024. We have a production budget of $5,000,000 (available upon request).

The investment is structured at 50 units, each available for $100,000. Investors will be paid back on a first-in-first-out basis. Once investors are paid back in whole, ownership shifts to a 50/50 ownership in proceeds between the filmmakers and the investors.
